I came to love BodyHype when I was encouraged as a freshman to choreograph during my fall semester. There was not only acceptance but also genuine excitement about my artistic choices, even though I was still figuring out the direction of the piece. In addition to the freedom of choreography, I love BodyHype for the moment during our shows when we are all waiting for the curtain to open, holding our breath in the darkness, anticipating the music so we can shout our BodyHype cheer. Because in that moment, all anxiety disappears, and instead we feel pure exhilaration, pure hype.
